At Ocean 3D, we’re passionate about creating inclusive and accessible spaces for everyone. Today, we’ve made a new commitment to stammer-friendly experiences. Understanding that each individual’s needs are unique, we’re excited to announce a new initiative focused on enhancing the experience for people who stammer. Drawing inspiration from the comprehensive guide by Stamma, we’re integrating stammer-friendly information into our interactive tours.
Empowering Through Information
We recognise that visiting new places can be daunting, especially for individuals who stammer. To ease this, we’re encouraging all our clients to include specific information in their tours. Details such as the availability of intercom access, voice recognition calling systems, and options to share disability needs in advance with a location are crucial. This proactive approach empowers both the staff and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment for everyone.
Why It Matters
Stammering, often overlooked, is a disability that affects the fluency of speech. It can lead to anxiety and hesitation in social interactions, particularly in unfamiliar settings. By providing clear, stammer-friendly information, we aim to reduce uncertainty and make every visit more comfortable and enjoyable.
Our Free Resource. To support this initiative, Ocean 3D is offering a free resource to all its clients from today 17/01/2024.
- We’ve sent out Stamma.org guide link. This guide will help our clients better understand the needs of people who stammer and how to make their spaces more accommodating.
- We’re offering £1,000 of free in-tour interaction points to our clients to add to their tour/s.
- It’s a step towards our goal of creating tours of every UK location, making them accessible and inclusive, particularly for those with physical and hidden conditions.
Join Us in This Journey
We invite all our partners, suppliers, supporters and clients to join us in this endeavour. By incorporating stammer-friendly features into your tours, you’re not just complying with The Equality Act 2010 but also demonstrating a commitment to inclusivity and empathy. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who stammer, ensuring they feel heard, respected, and welcomed.
