An Ocean 3D interactive tour can help people ‘know before you go’, and feel more comfortable with a new or unfamiliar location in advance. Many people like to plan a journey in advance but, for people with physical and hidden conditions the ability to remotely plan a journey to an unfamiliar or new location well in advance can be an absolute necessity (“where are the toilets?”… “is the ramp wide enough for my wheelchair?”… “Are the disabled changing facilities suitable for my son?”). A legal opinion by Internationally respected Human Rights and Employment barristers, Doughty Street Chambers in 2021 on the use of virtual tours as an anticipatory need or reasonable adjustment is available on request. This can vary depending on the level of detail required (the number of scan positions – a 1,000m² sports hall can be scanned a great deal more quickly than 1,000m² of museum space with hundreds of exhibits). However, if the location is ready for scanning when we arrive and does not involve restricted access points, we aim to scan up to 1,000M² per working day, per technician. Larger areas can have several technicians working on the same project, which reduces time-on-site disruption. The largest single tour we have created to date was of the 26-acre UNESCO World Heritage Site at Wheal Martyn Clay Museum. We believe this may be the largest single tour in the world using this technology. However, we recommend that larger tours are split into multiple, linked, tours for a better user experience. We position our scanners and cameras in as many locations throughout your space as required to give the best immersive experience for your tour. Each scan position represents a location someone might wish to stand, or sit, in the physical location itself. We try to ensure that these ‘footsteps’ follow a logical pattern which is then stitched together; much like stop go animation film creation but in 3 dimensions. We are constantly adding new functions to our tours with current embeddable content including, wayfinding, patented WCAG compliant overlay, static written information, multimedia (audio, video, 3D models etc.), Google maps, shopping-cart software, external URL links and location triggered events. It’s a very common question we receive but, most people are pleasantly surprised when they receive their quotation. Dependent on location, size and complexity of a location (we also work Internationally) a typical tour for a standard 3 bedroom semi-detached home starts at £350, whereas a college complex or airport of several thousands of square meters will cost significantly more. There is also an annual hosting and support charge per tour. All of our newly created tours come with AVA Access patented overlay which provides screen reader integration, alternate navigation and other accessibility features. Yes! We can edit existing and add new content very quickly with real-time publication and tour updates. Yes. We regularly use a CAA approved and highly experienced professional drone operator, Duncan Scobie, to create static aerial photography and dynamic video which can be linked to within the tour or, used to create a highly impressive aerial navigation webpage. Contact us for more information
