2023 Ocean 3D – finalists Tech4Good – Best Education Initiative
“Ocean 3D engaged and consulted with a number of key stakeholders including respective schools and colleges’ SEND teams, The National Autistic Society and Plymouth University. The latter being engaged to undertake independent end-user focus groups to establish usability, needs and potential future developmental improvements to the tours. The Penzance-based company, which creates 3D tours for industry, is forecasting export sales to the US to hit £1m in the next five years.
It’s a virtual reality (VR) photography scanning business that has clients in the UK and abroad, with exports accounting for 39% of its overall revenue in 2021.
It creates 3D tours for industries including education, transportation and health and has established itself in the US market with support from the Department for International Trade (DIT) as part of the drive to “level up” businesses in the region.
DIT has supported the company to grow in the US through market research support, advice on regulatory requirements and virtual trade missions.”

“The Sidmouth Road station at Middlemoor, which opened in in April this year, has won awards for its construction and sustainability and is within the top 10% most sustainable buildings in the country.
The new, modern building, which replaces the dilapidated Heavitree Road station, is the operational home for more than 450 officers and features 40 high-tech custody cells, electric vehicle charging points and 314sqm of solar panels on the roof.
