A More Accessible Healthcare Experience: Virtual Tour Launched at Morrab Surgery

At Ocean 3D, we believe every patient deserves to feel informed, confident and welcome before they even access a healthcare location.

That is why we are proud to have worked with Morrab Surgery in Penzance, part of Kernow Health CIC, to create a fully interactive, inclusive virtual 360° tour of their practice. This is more than a walkthrough. It is a tool that aims to help reduce anxiety and remove invisible barriers.

What makes this tour different?

Alongside our signature visual experience, the Morrab Surgery tour uses AVA/AVT patented accessibility technology, designed to support WCAG-oriented controls. All of our tours with this layer support simplified navigation, screen readers and custom interactions. It works across smartphones, tablets and desktops with no specialist hardware.

Why it matters

For many patients, especially those living with anxiety, autism, PTSD or dementia, the simple act of knowing what to expect can make all the difference. Exploring the space beforehand can help reduce anxiety, increase independence, and support carers and family members in preparing for a visit.

The legal and strategic case

In a legal opinion by Louise Mankau of Doughty Street Chambers, the provision of virtual tours to enable advance planning may qualify as a reasonable adjustment under the Equality Act 2010. It is not just good practice. In appropriate circumstances, it may form part of an organisation’s legal duties when delivering care or services to the public.
