Police and Crime Commissioner for Devon and Cornwall
Built on time and under budget, Britain’s most environmentally-friendly police station opened in Exeter in February 2020.
Built by contractor Wilmott Dixon, the £29 million station located on Sidmouth Road, next to the force’s Middlemoor headquarters, has been finished on time and under budget and is in the top 10% of sustainable buildings in the country. The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner owns the police estate. At around 8,000 sqm, it is the largest construction project that the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) has ever undertaken.
The commissioner has ownership of the force estate and has funded and planned the new station, working closely with the police project team, contractor Willmott Dixon, local councillors, residents and officer and staff representatives.
