What do you get when two people meet; one who has been a leading UK estate agent for 30 years and the other an education professional of 25 years?

I always felt the 3D interactive tours had more potential than that of selling houses. The journey had begun. Our brains didn’t stop! Night and day, we explored the diversity of so many market sectors that we almost lost sight of where we were going!

FREE?! A FREE tour?! Why would you do that?! Chris was right. The RNLI Penlee Lifeboat, Madron Church and military sailing charity Turn To Starboard, were not only genuine gifts to the community (and to a charity that had helped Chris so much) but, they also helped raise our profile and allowed us to demonstrate what our tours could do. Clients needed to see the tours to understand and believe in their potential.

My greatest passion is to help those who need it most by searching for innovative ways to improve services and outcomes and not to reinvent the wheel. Having worked as Head of Learning Support in Further Education I am too aware of the budget v’s outcomes for all business sectors!

One tour can do it all!

  • Sales and marketing
  • Support for those who are anxious at visiting new places
  • Training for staff
  • Health and Safety
  • And the cheesy….’and so much more!’

Time flew fast- hotels, holiday lets, spa’s and restaurants! It helped having had my first career in hospitality. Combining knowledge and Chris’ reputation for being a leader in his field we ploughed on into late nights, some more wine plus the obligatory whiteboard and pen!

What did we achieve? Well, we learnt we had to focus on key markets or our heads would spin even faster! We narrowed the markets we had in front of us: scanning charter yacht’s in Greece (that was a tough one!), delivering tours for Marco Pierre White and Black and White Hospitality, DoubleTree for Hilton (who have had over 93K visitors to their Ocean3D tours in the last 12 months!) 22 tours for Weston College and …….

Doors opened at last! With significant contracts we ventured on…..

We decided our initial logo did not empower or represent what we do. Business cards were on hold until this was decided….we had run out! Chris is a whizz at the IT stuff and with some external help of the ever patient and tech wizard, Barry, our long-time friend and web guru, we finally reached the final design and then spent twice as long on the colours - well, sensory issues are very important; let’s always be as inclusive as we can be.

Whilst I work full-time and freelance (incorporating Ocean3D as well), Chris continues to excel at what he does best. He has patience, aptitude and resilience in working all hours to bring to life our vision and purpose of Ocean3D!

We have been delighted to secure a huge commitment from Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust, an Academy of schools, National Autistic Society Cornwall to create the first Autism Friendly Town (!) and bookings such a super yacht over in Greece (another tough one!) and beautiful holiday home in Newquay.

Oh, did I mention we won the Future of Airport Innovation Award? Yep, for bringing to the industry a new way of thinking for the customers they had forgetten about- those who have anxiety. We have since been invited to present at the British Aviation Group meeting in November 2019, London and ‘Urban Turbine’ project at Cranfield University. We can’t wait to sit once again with the highest level of Aviation Leaders!

Still unsure how our tours can help you, your business or the community? Watch out for my 2nd ever blog soon- it will explain in more detail or give either of us a call on: 01736 339405

Ocean3D may be based in Cornwall, but like the Bronze Age tin miners of Cornwall, we are connected throughout the known World!

That’s it for my 1st ever Blog. Thank you for reading.
